“Hu…hello?” a small voice echoes into the cyber abyss.
Unbearable seconds pass in the darkest of silence, the kind where there is an endless nothing. Feeling sassy, the voice kicks it up a notch. “Is there anybody OUT THERE…OUT there…out there?”
Well, I freaking hope you guys are out there, because I’M BACK!!!
Two whole months. No blogging. No social media. It’s the modern day equivalent to social suicide, but I promise I’m alive and very, very well.
I’ve gotta say I was feeling some serious pressure with my comeback post. So many of you seemed to think I was doing something on the brink of prolific. Then I realized, in our media driven era, taking a hiatus from the digital presence is sort of prolific.
A lot of you said you couldn’t wait to hear what I would discover while I decompressed. Some of you probably thought I was nuts for taking my writer persona off the grid. Some of you might have some questions like…
BRITT, WERE YOU KINDA LOST?
Totally. The first official day of the hiatus, I came home from my day job and stood in the middle of my kitchen, pouting and absently eating cashews.
BRITT, WERE YOU KINDA LONELY?
Totally. I kept thinking I pissed off everybody in my life, but I couldn’t remember what did it.
BRITT, WERE YOU KINDA LAZY?
Oh, come now! Don’t you know me at all?!
- I silently toasted myself for my one year blogiversary, since I couldn’t share it with my usual community of blogger besties. (Cheers, ya’ll!)
- Mr. H and I seamlessly made it another year…eight years, actually. We celebrated with our annual high five. (Yay for love!)
- I annoyed the holy shit out of my two cats. (I’m sure of it.)
- I have been unleashed into the Yoga teaching world after obtaining my 200-hour certification last weekend. (More on that later.)
- Lastly, I finished my first draft of book trois, The Bra Game. It looks like shit run over twice, but I’m still proud. (More on that later, too!)
Phew! So yeah, I was a little lost and a little lonely, but I found something previously fleeting in my life. And I’m not gonna tell you what that is until next week’s post when I go into the why and how of taking a media vacay.
Aw, Britt!
I know, I know. I’m a tease.
But today, I simply wanted to poke my head out and say thank you all for standing by me. Your awesome encouragement was very much needed and I missed you all like you wouldn’t believe.
Aw, Britt.
I know, I know. I’m really just a big softy.
So, SERIOUSLY! Is there anybody out there? Give me a shout out down below, so I can “see” your cute faces.

Yay you are back. Congratulations on your 200 hour!! And the book and 8 years of marriage. We celebrated that milestone yesterday. Can’t wait to hear about your media cleanse.
Hey, Pamela! Thank you and congrats on that milestone. See you soon!
Welcome back! Congratulations on so many things! My wife and I will have been married for one year this September. I don’t even know what eight years will be like!
Hey, Chris! Thanks for the welcome wishes and congrats. I have only one thing to say about eight years…it is extraordinarily awesome to be lucky enough to share your life with your counterpart for that long.
First congratulations on your yoga certification…..that is a great accomplishment. Second congratulations on returning to write your blog, I missed it. And I think 8 years is a great milestone, Walter and I just passed 12 so I know what all that entails….lol. The one thing I know is the cats probably are in mourning missing their mom with you returning to your social media.
Take care and I am glad to see you back, I missed you….
Thanks, Aunt M.! Congrats on the big 12…that’s amazing. You know those cats will still be harassing me no matter what I’m doing. Missed you as well.
Welcome back, Britt! Can’t wait to regularly see you again. : )
Woohoo! Thanks, Stan. It’s super duper to be back.
What a delight to read your words once again, Britt! Congratulations on your anniversaries, finishing your first draft and on your yoga certification 🙂
Holy smokes…Letizia!!! I missed you.Thank you for all of your kindness, as always. Hope you’re doing beautifully.
Great to see you back, Britt! I’m still laughing at your “It looks like shit run over twice” comment – it’s early morning here and I think my guffaws woke the neighbors!
Dianne!!! Yay!!!
Well, it definitely looks like that. LOL! My apologies to your neighbors for my Texan outburst there. : )
Hey you! Good to see you.
You’re a yoga yogi now, huh? Smarter than the average yogi, too.
Hey yourself, Mr. Dittmer!!! : )
Great to see you. I am an official yoga yogi now and I’ll forever be the student.
Ahhhhh. The sigh of relief to see your words back in action! Welcome back. Call me. We can compare cubicle capers………..
Laurie, love! You are the epitome of sweetness.
I got your voicemail. We were packing for a camping trip this weekend, so I couldn’t chat. Are you around Sunday evening? I’ll try you then. Can’t wait to share cubicle capers with you. : )
Hu …Herro?!?
LOVE this post!
Herro, Pooks! LOL! Promise to reschedule our date soon. It’s been super hectic.
I thought it 50:50 that you’d come back at all Britt – I imagine you’ve gained one or two different perspectives. But great to see you and well done on all those accomplishments.
Hmmm…50:50. You are spot on, as always. I have gained some perspective and plan to play with some of that insight in the coming year.
So very awesome to see you. More than anything, this rad community brought me back. (I know you’re surprised it wasn’t the fame and glory of being an indie author.)
Welcome back, Britt! Good to see you around the blogosphere again. 😀 Sounds like you were productive. Congrats on your blogiversary and your anniversary AND finishing your first draft. I’m sure it’s not crap, but even if it was you at least managed to finish it. Go you!
Thank you, sweetness! I was quite productive. Thanks for all the cheer…talk to you soon. : )
Welcome back Ms. Britt. 😉I’m glad to ‘see’ you. Many congrats for all your milestones. Peace.
Hey, hey, Ms. Gail! Thank you and so good to see you again. Hope you’re doing splendidly.
